can anyone help me out from this confusion (Discussion)

i am mahija reddy. i completed my graduation in 2008 with an aggregate of 72%. and i got selected for satyam computers in my 3rd yr btech campus recruitments but didnt get joining date till now. i am very gud in quants so im preparing for cat and taking coaching in IMS institute in hyderabad. so im writing cat exam in this year. my main query is i heard that work experience is must nad shoud to get mba seat in gud B schools like ISB so wat should i gotta do now? shal i continue my preparation for cat/gmat or 1st getting some experience is gud enough? my another query is i completed my btech in 2008 and i am gonna write the CAT/GMAT exam in this year i mean 2009 if i get gud score, i hav to join in the next year. it means 2 years gap is there without any work experience is there any problem wiith this kinda academic gaps? plz giv me some gud advice

    Firstly, ISB does not accept people without experience. The avg work experience of its students is 5 yrs. My suggestion is you work hard on your CAT prepartion & get into a good school. I don’t think the 2 years gap will really matter. All the Best !!!

    if you can substantiate your 2 years of gap with some valid reason…then it wont be a big problem..but that wud be a sure Question in your PI..gud luck buddy

    I am working in an IT firm since the past 1 year. Would giving CAT or GMAT be helpful for me?? Please suggest!!

    it’s a good idea to appear for GMAT rightaway. the more you work, the busier you will get and the more responsibility you will have. you might not be able to do justice to GMAT preparation later on, therefore appear for it now, if you can!

    CAT is a good idea and preparing for it will also help in preparing for GMAT. ultimately, it’s about your goal – if are passionate about an MBA from a bschool abroad, then don’t go for CAT;
