i took the gmat a month bk and failed miserably …550 presenting an analysis from my epic failure …
main concerns ::
1. Problem solving/ Data suff qns were lenghty > i had practiced extensively from downloads from Isohunt.com. a 4.33gb upload. ps/ ds > from kaplan, gmat plus/princeton/McGrawhill /petersons(found it handy for maths) ..despite practicing majorly from the said relevent material .. i foundthe real test lengthyand complex. the qns were of a higher level from the ones i had workd upon.
CR > though looked easy (almost similar to OG but i think they were very deceptive as i features miserably in verbal section )
The best material by far for gmat CR ( u might be surprised after reading this ) is > an LSAT material called powerscoreLSAT Critical reasoning bible.the book is of 55o odd pages , i have gone thru 330 pages . i tell u its awesome!! its the best single material for Gmat CR. i ahe put myself to test and have found huge improvements in my cr scores.(it covers a good deaL Of RC qns as well!!)
Sentense correction> i came across 14/16 of them in the reaL test . they were very lenghty. i referedto OG/ kaplan/ and spidy notes for sc, manhattan in bits n pieces.kaplan 800 has sc qns” kinds of error wise “blocked systematically u hadly find it in any other book . recenty i found a software for sc 1000 which has answers but no explanations . after going thru asome basic notes on sc .. i started with sc 1000 .. and i am getting positive results.
for practice PS/ DS refer to mogoosh.com it has a huge list of qns (computer based ) are of level 650+
for AWA you neednt worry to much just go thru newspapers /m ags. there are a lot of tailored essays (issue/ agrument ) on the net .. just see the structure .. thge rest will falll in …
